Grove Hill Pathway
Going to school can be daunting for many reasons.  Especially when the school is in a different valley from where one lives.  That is the issue many children in the West End face as they need to get to school at Sun Valley elementary school.  There is a steep drop from the West End northern ridge top to the school on 5th Street.  The alternative, of course, is driving.  And that is what many people choose to do.

In 1984 and 1985 an easement was granted for public access between Sun Valley and the West End.  That easement goes through a subdivision called "Grove Hill."  The easement has never been developed into a real pathway.  It is steep and overgrown with trees and brush.  Alternative paths have been blazed in areas that are not approved and that can be dangerous.

Alternatives and efforts have been pursued over the years to make the pathway safe and convenient.  Some of those efforts are captured here.  Follow these links to keep informed.
